Detail description of organization

The International Civil Society Centre helps the leading international civil society organisations (ICSOs) maximise their impact for a sustainable and more equitable world.

The Centre works with ICSOs such as Amnesty International, CARE or Oxfam to successfully navigate change. We scan the horizon for opportunities and threats; enable learning and cooperation among ICSOs and their stakeholders; support them in developing effective leadership; and promote robust accountability to strengthen their legitimacy. The Centre is a not-for-profit organisation fully owned by the organisations it serves. We strive to set high standards in management, governance and strategy for our shareholders and the wider sector.

The Centre in its role as a hub for collaboration serves as the global secretariat to the Leave No One Behind partnership and its collaborative project Making Voices Heard and Count (MVHC). The partnership and its MVHC project brings together international and national civil society organisations (CSOs), civic networks and platforms with the ambition to bring about a scalable solution for filling data gaps on marginalised groups in the monitoring and review of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thereby, the project aims to make a key contribution towards fulfilling the Agenda 2030’s universal pledge to leave no one behind. The MVHC project fosters an inclusive model of SDG monitoring, supporting the collection, analysis and dissemination of community-driven data and giving a stage to data produced by the local communities themselves – helping to make their voices heard and count.
